We have all expressed ourselves by means of symbols, often during a speaking exercise or perhaps during the various daily activities we perform. Lastly, during the sleep as well.

Gestures of greeting, the commercial ad’s, dreams, street signs, every object, idea or action hides within a symbolic meaning, to the extent that symbols are the chassis on which the thoughts, desires and the human behavior reside.

In understand the language of symbols, therefore, means to better understand ourselves as well as others, as often indicated and confirmed by Psychologists, this is psychology of silent communication, the neuro-linguistic programming and transactional analysis.

In knowing the use of symbols serves to refine a means of communicate that, present nonetheless, is active in everyone, remains unknown and indecipherable if one does not possess at least a theoretical base.

Moreover, the symbolic communication acts in a deeper way on the observer inducing emotions and feelings of varied kind.

However the non-verbal strategies are not considered truly magical tools, in light of the fact that communication excludes superstitious beliefs. Furthermore, also excluded are all ritual elements of a metaphysical conception.

Such presuppositions has given premise to a course on Magic symbolism, this is not a course on Magic, even though we shall discuss at length about this topic, the course will focus on lessons of esoteric Iconology.

After a dedicated introduction to archetypes and primitive types, we focus on the real subject, displaying the use of magical symbols in religious and profane art. From early paintings to the great classic civilizations, from the medieval building to the renaissance painting, in order to reach some modern artistic waves, in particular symbolist paintings, surrealist and the new visionary.

Moreover, the courses confront the analysis of a collection of symbolic particulars like the allegory of the Tarots, the astrological signs, the emblematic alchemist and the talisman seals.

The gathering of all such elements indicate the original meaning and the mutations introduced throughout the course of the time. Moreover, the possible uses and the presumed powers that have pushed forward still today and inserted them in great pictorial cycles of many churches, publics Palaces and on maps of fortresses and cities.
